We provide reliable and affordable transportation services
We put our drivers and owner operators at stress conditions daily and with minimum pay. Example: we take an over 4,500 USD automotive parts load from Laredo, TX to Mississauga, On Canada and we take Canadian automotive parts load priced over 3,000 USD from Canadian auto plants to Laredo, TX and pay to our owner operators net of 2,500 CAD for this 6 days round trip for which we collect from brokers or directly from GM, Ford a gross amount of 7,500 USD and up. So, we basically use owner operator's trucks for free. We are smart. We are even smarter than you may think, we delay payment to owner operators for the trip he/she completed for 30 days. We use highest in the industry deductible of 5,000 CAD and "freeze" this money earned by owner operators when they enroll to work with us (we deduct it from driver's pay within first 6 months) and we use the funds at our discretion. We also try to cheat on owner operators and try to deduct from those $5,000 whatever is possible and not to return this funds when a driver fed up with our sort of multiculturalism and quit the job. We provide employees with a contract where we superimpose tons of obligations on employee or o/o and take zero responsibilities on us as a company. Our crooked employment contracts contain no single word in the contract of what we actually owe to the employee or to the owner operator. So, we see our business as one side road, a road to Gigg's success.
We charge our drivers on every corner with fines, in most cases bogus fines, unusual in the industry but we like doing so. It's an extra income for us as a company. We do not pay layovers to our Canadian drivers forcing them to sit in Laredo, TX in animal style conditions for days. We do not allow any cash advances to our Canadian long haul drivers while fueling, placing drivers in starvation situation and forcing them to sit in their over heated trucks for days in Texas heat. We force our drivers to have camera installed in their truck pointed at the driver himself. We do not trust our drivers. We also bulk hire least experienced drivers with less than 3 years experience for our long haul operations to keep up with lowest pay in the industry and to maximize our profits. Yes, we have 3-4 trucks a year burned to ashes this way but those are leased trucks and the lease can wait/insurance pays and we got our profits on these trucks by the moment they crushed. We have a number of yards in the USA in different states and have no single driver lounge in them, our culture, conditions we were born in and grew up do not assume it's worth having it for people who work for us.
We do not pay owner operators any compensation for their trucks used by Gigg, more over the rates per mile we offer are equal to 8-9 dollars per hour paid to our owner operators and each of them provides us with a truck and a driver and we thoroughly look that they maintain their trucks in decent condition no matter that we do not actually pay an adequate compensation to keep their trucks well maintained. We are super smart and happy there is no any control from authorities. That's our way to guaranty safety on the roads by our fleet members.
We charge every 3 months our owner operators for inspections of their trucks in our truck shop, though we know that decent businesses do a fare job and perform inspections at their own expense leaving to owner operators to do repairs at their expense if any repairs needed. But we need to support our shop guys and charge owner operators whom we keep underpaid at the same time. We rip them off on every corner.
We use different businesses names to hide from DOT and MOT who doesn't like us due to us being consistently low profile carrier on their DOT and MOT records.
As a responsible company we widely use recap tires on our trailers in long haul operations (Canada to Texas and Mid West). We hide recap tires as internal tires on our trailer tandems and jeopardize safety on the roads taking chances of our recap trailer tires to blow up and damage/kill tailgating person behind our trailer on the road to Texas. We know recap tires are unsafe for 3,000 miles long trip and 100 deg. Fahrenheit Texas heat conditions, recap tires preferred usage is a city work, but as those who are bringing our own multiculturalism into transportation business we use recap tires on a regular basis on the roads from Canada to Texas. We like savings.
We finally started to hire white people (we have a couple right now in our office out of all 500 employees) for us not to look ugly as if we hate local Canadians and not to look as if we hire only our numerous relatives for the office work and only former compatriots for the actual trucking work. We are changing!
We outsourced office work to India proper, as if 40 people in Mississauga office are not enough (too many relatives but we hired 40 only). As a result of transition to India based "dispatch" all our drivers are being driven nuts not being able to connect directly to dispatch in a timely fashion as only people in India are picking up the phone sporadically (often not knowing what they need to tell you) and only they can talk to Mississauga dispatch directly. So, we hide ourselves from our drivers and never allow them to get straight by phone to dispatch in Mississauga, we hide our dispatch extensions and our dispatchers rarely pick up their phones anyway (we do have such an office culture), we regulate everything through India based employees who cost us not much and that slows down our work a bit. But doing so we have a piece in mind in our Mississauga office, your automotive parts can wait a bit, so do the drivers.
We use Voip system in our office, we do not understand much in Voip systems and we leave all inbound calls actually unattended as every calling back person never knows who really called him from Gigg's office 5 min ago if he/she missed that call. We just use one general number for our office outbound calls and receiving party if he/she missed our call and attempts to call back is routed through India and that calling back to us person will never find out who actually called him/her as our people in office be it India or Mississauga never know either. So our Voip phone system in our office works one way - only we the office guys need to make an outbound call.
Sincerely, we just have no idea what "extensions" are in Voip systems and how to set them up properly and how to train our personnel some office culture like introducing themselves while answering a phone call . We toss our office phone extensions multiple times through out the year so you would not know how to get in touch with the person you talked recently. Calling you we are not used to leave a messages with a request to call back at such and such extension, and we do not like to write emails, after all an email is a document and we do not like documented things. So if we call you, you will never find out who actually called you from our office. We are smart or are we stupid? We did not decide on that yet. May be we are of no culture at all? Who knows, may be immigration Canada knows it.
We have such a culture that our office employees never introduce themselves while picking up the phone at their desk, though it might be useless as you will not be able to repeat their names or even to make it out how to pronounce the name if you heard it even twice.
We do respect our drivers and always tell them to show up at 5 am or 5 pm for their Texas outbound preloaded trailer pick up in our Mississauga yard (not at any other time!) and they do, but we give them a load at 7 pm earliest as in India when we say "I meet you at 6pm" that actually means I will come at 9 pm or later and we do not give a heck that people in Canada might not be accustomed to such cultural perks. We know that in other companies a driver who is heading to a 6 days trip is never forced to come to yard to pick up a preloaded trailer at 5 am or 5 pm only unless this is his/her preferred time to start, cause this timing is stupid due to numerous reasons, unless a delivery appointment is causing this timing but this is never the case with our loads as we drop trailers in our US yards in most cases in 3 days after it was picked up in our Mississauga yard . But we do not give a heck, we have our own multicultural standards for owner operators to start their 6 day trips.
To sum, up we are nice people to deal with, we are multicultural business deriving from Panjab, India. We are an enterprise created by ambiance of India which brings our vision of business onto Canadian soil. Our target is to drop down local standards in transportation industry closer to baseboard level. Perhaps this is why we are considered one of the most reliable companies in automotive supply chain delivering auto parts to US (Laredo, TX, El Paso, TX and numerous Mid West locations) or are we not?
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
